Chris Wehrmann was born in 1967 in Münsterland/Dorsten and he grew up in the Ruhr region in Gelsenkirchen. He inherited his talent for drawing and painting from his grandmother.
When he was 18, he won the ZDF (zweites Deutsches Fernsehen/German TV channel) Youth Painting Competition and travelled with other winners for three weeks across The People’s Republic of China. At the same time, he started gaining practical experiences in the theatre, dance (classical ballet and modern dance) and choreography.
After completing his training as a Graphic Designer and experiences in different advertising agencies, he now manages his own conceptual design office in Kaarst. Since 2003 painting has taken on a stronger focus in Chris’ life. During this time he’s formed a clear interest in the figurative depiction and recording of human sequences of motion.
