"Die Arbeit mit einem übergeordneten konzeptionellen Gedanken ist tief in meiner beruflichen DNA verankert. In meiner figurativen Malerei und in der Collage gilt dies jedoch nur bedingt: Häufig verändert sich die ursprüngliche Idee im Verlauf des kreativen Prozesses – beeinflusst durch das Medium, die einzelnen Arbeitsschritte oder jene Muse, die manchmal unvermittelt eine neue Richtung vorgibt.
Gerade in der Verbindung von figurativer Malerei und Collage entsteht ein offener Dialog zwischen Planung und Intuition, zwischen Bildidee und Material. So wird jedes Projekt zu einer eigenen Reise. Der Weg ist selten geradlinig, sondern geprägt von Umwegen, Zweifeln, Überraschungen und Freude – und gerade darin liegt seine besondere Erfüllung."

NEVER SEIZE TO WONDER
"Following a general conceptual idea is deeply rooted in my professional DNA. But this only marginally applies to painting and collage. More often than not, the basic idea transforms through the creative process, influenced by the stages of painting/assembling, by the medium itself or by the muse that sometimes taps on my shoulder to point into a quite different direction, generally one I had not considered at all.
Taking that into account, each of my projects is a journey in itself. And leads to a result that often astonishes and humbles me. Making art is by no means a straight line but an adventure of detours and doubts and surprises and joy. And utterly satisfying."
